The aim of the Art for Beginner’s group is to give anyone interested in developing their art skills, a chance to explore ideas they have and to develop the skills with art media to create artwork which satisfies them.
Sometimes we work as a class to improve drawing, or try out a new media or art style, but a lot of the time we follow individual ideas.
You need to buy your own art materials, but if there is money in the kitty, it is spent on art materials to share. All you need to join is to be a member of u3a, and an interest in art.
Lynn Rust leads the group and taught art to A level for many years. She is a mixed media artist.
The group has around 10 members, 5 or 6 attending on average most weeks. We do try and get out now and again to draw in the summer.
