Walk Leaders: David and Lesley Foster

Our group of 15 were blessed with a gloriously sunny day. Having parked at Rushbury we walked up Roman Bank then headed over the ridge through trees towards Wilderhope Manor, skirting around the top of the Edge overlooking Longville.
On our return journey (didn’t quite make it to Pilgrim’s Cottage) we had lunch on the terrace of Wilderhope Manor. There was  a lot of chat and laughter and comparing of packed lunches! We made our way back along the ridge and then descended over the fields and the disused railway track to the Iron Age fort beside Rushbury. Ian said that the ant hills on the fort may have been up to 100 years old. We had walked just short of 7 miles. It was a lovely day out in the fresh air,  sharing our day with dear friends and acquaintances.
