When August brings the summer’s heat

At the u3a, we do not meet

No-one knows why this should be

For the harvest or trips to the sea?

On a Grand Tour or other jols?

This is the month for your hols

If a change is as good as a rest

Have both and be doubly blessed

We’ll skip the month with Caesar’s name

Then continue on just the same

So when the kids go back to schools

We can too (but with a lot less rules!)

September the ninth is our next meeting
