The new season has started and the group is currently full. Please check back later in the year to see if the situation has changed.
The Crown Green Bowling group has been going for about 8 years. It was set up to introduce u3a members to the game as well as to provide an opportunity for experienced bowlers to play on the town’s beautiful green.
The group has access to its own equipment and provides gentle exercise, sporting challenge and good social fun for members.
Tuition is available for beginners, who are very welcome.

As stated in the header, we meet every Tuesday afternoon (weather permitting), commencing 1.00 pm at the Much Wenlock Bowling Club ground on the Gaskell Field behind William Brookes School. To facilitate the organisation of groups/pairs for playing, it is helpful if you turn up promptly. During school holidays parking is available in the William Brookes School car park. Otherwise, the nearest parking is in Station Road.
Bowling takes place from April to the end of September, when we hope for beautiful sunny weather and comradeship.
We operate very closely with Much Wenlock Bowling Club who manage the green. The majority of the bowling group are now members of the Bowling Club and play for one of their teams. Those who aren’t members are required to pay £2 per session, with this contribution going to the bowling club.
